Dorothy came from a long line of successful artists and at age fourteen was invited to study at the prestigious Art Students League of New York. During her fifty-year career, Dorothy achieved immense success. In 1975, her first solo exhibition “Serenata Mexicana” was shown at the renowned Southwest Museum for three months to rave reviews.

Dorothy’s art underwent an evolution over the decades from painting oils by brush, to painting oils by palette knife, to watercolors, pastels, silkscreens and sculptures. Many critics and publications noted her impressive versatility, including Architectural Digest which dedicated a large spread to her watercolor paintings of New York City.

During her illustrious career, Dorothy was the first American woman commissioned to create a mural in Mexico, she was commissioned by the King of Morocco for a series of paintings and was hosted by the Mayor of Jerusalem while completing her Israel collection of which he proclaimed was “the next best thing to being in Israel”.

Prior to her career as an artist, Dorothy shot to stardom modeling for Christian Dior as the face of his “New Look” collection and starred in several prominent television shows, including Emmy-winning “Fear on Trial,” produced by her husband, Stanley Chase.

Dorothy’s paintings have been exhibited in galleries, embassies and museums worldwide, and are owned by public corporations and private collectors.
