Dorothy was driven by the desire to experience the common humanity in all of us. She often challenged herself by traveling to foreign countries, leaving her comfort zone, having to overcome obstacles of varying languages and customs.

For two decades, Dorothy traveled extensively through Europe, Asia and the Middle East. When she felt a connection to a place or the people, she would stop and paint. Dorothy chose subjects she felt best represented the spirit of each country; typically working with watercolors to create a luminous, delicate, layered effect.
